DAY THREE

Let me be clear: making music is no easy task. It's one thing to be able to sing or perform well. It's a completely different skill to be an efficient and PROficient recorder. For example, tonight, when time was scarce (I had about 40 minutes before I had to leave), it took me about 25 tries to perfectly record a guitar lead for my track "535". And I'm still not sure its even that good or in sync with the rest of the song.

Then there are tracks that I haven't even begun to work on yet. The eight-minute long epic titled "Caroline" has yet to break ice in the studio. A collaboration with Proctor's own "Paxxter" (better known as Patrick Cotton) titled "Too Surreal" was started in the late winter but abruptly came to a halt due to the end of the term. It is slated to be track 4 on the album, yet has a lot of work to be done on it. It might not even make the album due to timing restrictions. Another one, "jetblue", which is currently the album's outro, has yet to be fully recorded, although multiple demos have been captured on voice memo.

So just based on that, it is evident that there is much to be done.

Today, however, I made significant progress on "535", which is the last part of a three part song that is my favorite one I have written. It's the song that inspired me to continue to write. I wrote it on Ocean Classroom two falls ago, and it has evolved since then. Once it is finished, I will be able to devote a lot of focus to other songs, but for now, I cannot ignore my urge to complete it.

For now, I will finally release a song, titled "Invisible Man", which was actually written for an AP English project last spring, because I have it on my computer and I think people will enjoy it. The song will not be on the album, but I will put it out anyways.

Other songs, such as Larry Bird, will need to be mixed properly before being released. I look forward to accomplishing much more before the end of the week. More to come....
